Water fun for your get away!
Every year many lakehome owners celebrate summer with a new “toy” for their retreat. Unless you’ve been able to try them out at a friend’s house, it can be an overwhelming task to find the perfect water-related toy. It all comes down to researching, reading reviews, and finding out what our children (and some adult guests) will have the most fun with! Here are a few to jumpstart your research. All of these suggestions have good reviews, and will get you headed in the right direction!
1. Rave Inflatable Slide
The new Rave inflatable slide will keep the kids entertained for hours. No need to deal with installing and maintaining a heavy fiberglass slide; just inflate this product, attach it to your dock, and slide! The dock slide inflates in 5-8 minutes and features a 9’ long sliding surface. Rave also makes an inflatable dock slide for your pontoon. The slide can easily accommodate children age 8-12.
2. Rave Bongo
Another great product from Rave is their Bongo Trampoline. The Bongo is similar to other water trampolines. However, due to its no-spring construction, the Bongo is one of the few trampolines you can use on a lake OR land. If you can manage to shoe-fly the children off, the Bongo is also well suited as a platform for adults to sunbathe and lounge on. Highly Recommended!
3. Aviva Rock It Totter
Inflatable teeter-totters are another water toy design that has become very popular in the last few years. The Aviva Rock It Totter is one of the better-constructed totters on the market. It is perfectly suited for ages 9-13 and has a good reputation for durability. It features a heavy-duty nylon skin with PVC bladders. Most importantly, it’s very affordable. Although water totters work well on a lake, they don’t translate as well in a pool due to space issues.
4. Kayak – Aire Super Lynx
In the last 10 years, inflatable kayaks have become a hit with boating & fishing enthusiasts. The design & construction have come a long way from 20-30 years ago. In many cases, today’s higher end inflatable kayaks are almost as durable as their hard-hulled big brothers. A perfect example is the Aire Super Lynx. With a large load capacity, a thick outer skin and a 10-year warranty, you can’t wrong.
